Also looks like an unplowed parking lot at Fred Meyer...funny how 30,000 feet up can look like ground level.
True perspective needs to be experienced first hand or it can be open to interpretation.

Keep on taking those pictures. Alaska is my favorite state.

Nice imagery! The isolation and individual "freedom" of that last, fatal step off the edge as compared to being anchored by the family ties that bind.

Well done! This is the first story that I have read that actually:
1. took me by surprise
2. was very well written
3. had characters that, in spite of their brief appearance, were engaging and had personality
4. was enjoyable from the first to the last word.
