Okay, so you surprised me with this chapter, was not expecting...let's just call it a bit of comic relief. I admit, I laughed at the grape jelly bit. Part of me thought maybe it's gone too far, I think you toed the line, but managed to pull back before it got to raunchy!
I like the way you've woven the story lies together, we are starting to get a better idea of this book, the priest, the horrible Blackstone, the simple Lizzy, the noble-hearted if not cowardly Albert and now Rebecca's family.
Again I felt your writing was clear and very visual, thought I might like some more details about the physical appearance of the priest and Blackstone...I've got a distinct picture of what I think they might look like, but would love to see more detail from you.
I will definitely read more...no one can say you are not creative...I'm sure I'll be cracking a smile every time I make my kiddo's lunch for the next couple of days. Yep, you guessed it... their favorite? Peanut butter and grape jelly! :P
