Review of Meat Loaf
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
(not to make light of your loss)After reading so much "erotica" the right side of your brain begins to play tricks on you. When asked "what did you eat last night?", one can when in polite company answer, "I had some meatloaf", all the time smiling at your significant other, winking.
while tickling her fancy, or fantasy, whichever.(meatloaf being a kitty)

Review of Remember When...
Review by macbeth
Rated: 18+ | (4.5)
A trip down memory lane usually requires a pair of introspective spectacles or rose coloured glasses but here there's quite a crowd to keep you company while you're walking and talking to the neighbours.
humourous, hypnotic, heartfelt.

Review of Sculpture
Review by macbeth
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
Like "Tantulus" enjoined from ever enjoying the quenching of his thirst or the satiation of his hunger a sculpter in sculpting, a painter in painting, a writer in writing each pays the price of their passion in the value of time. Though to paint the same painting ad nauseam must be a form of living hell especially when man is a creature of variety.

Review of Chapter 1
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
Nothing in the "verse" marks the disembarkation point to the land of freedom for a teenager than a set of wheels in which to turn the music loud and sing along to the sound of "This girl is a woman now". The only time that she can be drunk with a sense of empowerment and still be allowed to drive.
enthusiastic exuberance.

Certainly a trip to remember on a time machine of sorts with a child needing to ask the questions and her grown up self needing to answer them if only indirectly. In the nation of i and the magi it is possible to have that conversation if only but in the land of dreams.
Playfully, enthusiastic.

Review of Chapter One
Review by macbeth
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
An old television show called "Dragnet" comes to mind as I am reading, after the detective saying " Just the facts ma'am, just the facts." A little dry with slight elaboration that leaves the reader looking for a drink to quench their thirst without promoting hunger.
straightforward.

A black cat's anticipation of a storytellers tale told over a bonfire upon a blanket with hot wine or cider and friends on a Halloween's eve. A stream of consciouness trip to the Town's square in a controlled imaginative spiral.

Cindy Lauper sings in the background "Time after time",
"Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me,
Time after time."
Within love's paradox it hurts so much to hold on and sometimes too much to let go.

Instinct determines that after the first breath we take, we take another. The body's reaction to the rush of air is automatic as is its reaction to thirst or hunger. The mind can of course play tricks thinking it is a game of chance rather than of circumstance knowing that fate favours those that are prepared.

Review of Mary Stone
Review by macbeth
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
We can sometimes retreat into the stories of our books too far and become lost in there, in them. How do you tell or show the young to take care and take care of themselves when so involved? When running across the border into imagi nation there are no guards or moats delineating the difference between what passes for civilizaton here and wilderness there.
tragically entropic.

Review of Chelsea's Poem
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
While I believe in God in the sense that I believe we are God, or the part that looks out at the stars in self examination, I put no trust in organized religion and the Desterata comes to mind.
"Be at peace with God, whatever you conceive God to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul."

When you are conducting a conversation but each talking in a different language there are things that can be frustratingly lost in the translation. One talking in absolutes and the other in relative terms it is obvious they are not operating on the same platform.

Whether you are working or playing with words they are best exchanged while fluid and confident. Annotation and denotation have as much effect as inflection on the meaning of words in influencing their cause and effect on conversation.

Review of Wishing on a Star
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
When i was a little boy they had to shake me to wake me for there were many interesting places to go there in imagi nation. So many places and so little time, little before we become brittle and fragile rather than agile, and all we can do is wish upon stars.

Review of To Write
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
At first you think that the parts of yourself that you put upon the paper want to come apart and it is not until they are actually there that you realise they want to come together. They have a tendency to fill the page while leaving you empty until of course they start coagulating.

Review of Life=Cruel
Review by macbeth
Rated: ASR | (4.0)
Except for the confusion, and who can help that first thing in the morning, the stream of consciousness comes to the conclusion that life is hard, relatively speaking. "I thought my life was hard because I had no shoes until I met a man that had no feet." While the struggle can make you stronger sometimes crawling back under the covers speaks more to comfort than defeat.

Review of Denying Guilt
Review by macbeth

You first become aware of guilt's regret when waiting for the weight of loss to register its sense of responsibility as an anticipation of the overwhelming feeling of impending doom. It becomes an awkward burden that is tiring to carry when unbalanced.

Review of Every Two Seconds
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
A compulsive excessive behaviour that as described so precisely would be funny if it weren't so sad. An addictive obsession that has similarities to being caught in a causality loop of temporal dimensions. Accurately conflicted and deceptively entropic.

Review of Yikes
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.5)
In opposition to those that think "size doesn't matter" this might change a mind or two. I met a reaper once for there must be more than one, what withall the work to do and so little time to do it. Considering conservatively 234,567 have to die every day just to stabilize the global population, it is a lot of dieing and of course reaping. Fortunately in my case, being the weathergod I was able to convince him it was a case of mistaken identity.

Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.5)
At the entrance to "Arachnia" loose sticky strands blowing in light breeze just beyond the actual web obscuring a plague's black words engraved in stone that hang above warning "Abandon all hope, yee who enter here". Not a place to go and be certain of return.

Review of Science of Love
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.5)
Depending on whether you consider love an art or a science this will appeal more to those thinking patience can be a crippling virtue, advising always that there is only "now" and each moment passes quickly. The warning would be to live the moments instead of counting them or in the vernacular "use them or loose them".

Review of In the Dark
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
Darkness is as darkness does, making us susceptible to things that we can see only in our mind's eye. When in our dreams, does that make it any less real? Darkness is not evil on its own but merely a convenient disquise for activity best hidden. Though the worst evil hides in plain sight "with a smile and a cup of tea".

I suppose one would have to write a book to list and describe all the possible activities the membership could found to be engaging. Even the listing whether it be alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically might be instructive given a valiant effort. While reading and reviewing would at the first of my choices, they are not even listed.

Review of Stories
Review by macbeth
Rated: 18+ | (4.5)
A collection of tales from the absurd to the ubiquitous and the sublime to the ridiculous not meant for mass consumption though with enough allure to hold the unwary's attention long enough to lead them up a dark alley and down a slippery slope to the edge of thin unpredictable ice.

For those that would die young just to leave behind a good looking corpse without considering the moment when payment due exceeds accounts received. Though at this stage I wouldn't be taking anything for granted knowing that the devil comes in many disguises. It might be prudent to ask for prove of identity before embarking or disembarking as the case may be.
