Just as my job is what I do and not what I am the scar may be there in the reflection but it is not something I reflect upon. One must take the tragedy of the trauma and hold it with both arms in the sense that one should hold one's friends close and one's enemies closer.
keep looking for the vision.

Heartfelt and considering the subject, optimistic. Beyond the inertia of the bureaucracy there is a saying of those that 'can do' which goes "If something gets in your way, go around it". While in an ordered world it is most times not practical or possible but with everyone leaning in the same direction so that protocols become merely rules with best intentions, things can work like magic.

"She told me that Cary’s been accused of being raped multiple times" I know what it is supposed to say by the context but 'raped' should perhaps correctly read 'a rapist' even if we all would like to see him bent over Bubba's table. It all goes to show that being manipulated by a smooth operator can be difficult to see unless you can be objective. As well as wise words of warning that it is always good practice to have someone watch your back even if you are not contemplating rescue.

A few words leaves much to the imagination but apparently a confrontation is to be avoided for a secret sin is always made the more delicious by the chance of its discovery. Humour's mirror image is such that someone seems to get hurt regardless.

I first remember William Petersen in "Manhunter" and then in "To live and Die in LA" and while the CSI is formula I catch it occasionally for the style. Retiring from the world of slavery so you can go to play with the words to make them work is almost ironic.
Insightful, why do we write, is it because we have to?
Encouraging, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Review of Granite Cities
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.5)
I spent a year when I was younger and more prone to whim, photographing cemeteries. Sometimes after the wind had blown the freezing rain into weird shapes as if it were blowing glass. When looking through the pictures I realize they captured something beyond the stone that reminds me of the chill.

If you wanted to go Darkside this is one way of going Viral though no one said anything about knowing the way back from the border so take a moral compass along on the journey and try not to be twisted.
Stick your head out the window and yell "Stop! I'm not going to take this anymore!" Repeat as required, louder if necessary, until the message is the default.

Heartfelt and well written of a heart, gob smacked and smitten with the affliction of wilful blindness to all but its focus.

I can hear Willie Nelson singing his words of warning in the background as I'm reading...

Mama don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
They'll never stay home and they're always alone
Even with someone they love
Cowboys ain't easy to love and they're harder to hold
And they'd rather give you a song then diamonds or gold
Lonestar belt buckles and old faded Levi's each night begins a new day
And if you don't understand him and he don't die young
He'll probly just ride away

Review of Do you notice?
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
There were things that were not noticed until it was too late because all five senses were alive and living together inseperately. The sixth sense was high on pheromones delivered through air vector and while in a vision could not see well enough to do anything but stand up without thinking and agree.

Review of Twins Without
Review by macbeth
Rated: 13+ | (4.5)
Every sentient being knows the difference between right and wrong, some just require a moment to think about it before they make their decision.
There are some who say there is no such thing as coincidence and in this small world all things happen for a reason.
Heartfelt and optimistic.

Someone once wrote that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely but if you were one of the elite's control freaks I suppose your perspective might be a little different. When you are sitting there in the catbird's seat without a moral compass it is probably easier to find that 'the end justifies the means'.
Painted on a canvas of prophesy that makes the bible an almost literal account of history requires 'the suspension of one's disbelief' or it can in reading become an oxymoron like military intelligence.
A cautionary tale of conspiracy, secret societies, hidden agendas and the strategies seeking their fulfillment.
Addictive! Like the Martian flower.

Review of Speculate
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
Speculation has in its multiple logistics a tendency to unravel the further you get from center either in the vertical or horizontal position. To prevent a destructive oscillation and a tendency to wander it is best to use a gyroscopic mechanism for discrimination.
Funny, though it takes a while to get to the punch line.

Review of The Poet
Review by macbeth
Rated: E | (4.0)
I was a poet
so well disguised
that none could know it.
A genius so
that form like sand
through fingers flow
and words and phrases grow
in me waiting for
the ripeness of the moment
when poem is born
in writing.
