Review of Always Autumn

What a gorgeous poem you have written here. Reading it I can picture you both sat there on that blanket, the pumpkins pinning the blanket down, while you drink your wine. The way you describe the colours of the fields make me feel like its New England, but maybe its elsewhere.

Never lay down those writing tools, for they serve you well.

Wonderful Poem, best of luck with your medical issues.

Tim, as a british guy, I am not even going to try and debate on american political issues. I don't know enough about them to begin trying. But I certainly get what you are saying. Your poem certainly gets your opinions and point of view across very nicely and I admire that. That's the beauty of living in a democratic country where you have the freedom of speech.

The poem flows beautifully.

Respect Sir.

Really clever, well written poem here Don, I particularly love how you managed to get your poem to shape like a pencil, that takes skill.

Good Job :0)

Review of Your Choice

This is without a doubt one of the most horrifying and thought provoking poems I have read in a long while. I have children myself and the thought of abortion has never crossed my mind thankfully, especially now I am watching my children grow up, develop their own little characters, the thought of stopping that seems horrendous.

On the flip side however, I am sure there are people who have to face such an awful decision. I know of one person who became pregnant through wanting to and then to discover that the foetus was non viable. The options being either to abort the child or finish the pregnancy only to have the child die within hours. That decision must have been unthinkable.

If there was ever an advert needed to promote the use of safe sex to prevent unwanted pregnancy, then this poem is it.

Bravo.

Review of Lest We Forget

What a nice piece of fantasy fiction. Having read through it I am now assuming that some form of cosmic radiation was responsible for the woman not being able to have children. You already mentioned that the planet was dying, due to the sun slowly growing into a red giant or something, I am guessing. It is a nice tale of people testing their faith to their god, and the agony when it appears that the gods are not listening.

Looking forward to reading more of your stuff.

I think there is a little piece of all of us that wishes our name could be on those spines alongside some of the literary greats. Keep going, don't give up and above all we must all believe in ourselves.

Good luck.

Review of Lost In Time

Hi Megan, nice time parallax story about two separate generations meeting, especially the pirate element. You are quite right in the fact that they would have stuck out like a sore thumb dressed as pirates, especially in London. I enjoyed that, thank you ;0)

This is a very nice, and very well written piece of verse. I like the way that you contrast and compare between a fictional world and the real one. In the real world its not ok to destroy buildings, kill people, blow things up etc, but in the movies it seems that anything goes. In the real world we are responsible for our own actions and must take the consequences when we make mistakes hence the last two paragraphs where you say we must learn from our mistakes and move on, getting the appropriate training to prevent further accidents etc.

Nothing I could say could improve on what you have written, so well done.

Thanks for contributing.

Review of The Invasion
Review by wightrider
Rated: E | (4.0)
This is a really clever little story. The title straight away leads us to believe that the invasion is either from little green men or some foreign power from another country. By the time I got to the end I realized it was a tale about a snow storm. You certainly hooked me into the story, making me think it was about one thing, but in reality something completely different.

Excellent work.

Review of 2032

Who knows how the future will turn out, but the concept of reality tv could indeed one day turn into a modern day version of the Roman gladiatorial arena, where contestants lives are determined by the turn of a thumb, or in this day and age a vote placed by a telephone call or text.

Great story that shows just how much of our lives are dominated by reality television and wannabe slebs.

Nice work. :0)
