I love how you took an everyday scene in your yard and not only saw the beauty in it all, but managed to put it into words beautifully, nice work!

I have a couple of questions though - in the following -

Morning dew upon the gate,
dust is early, dawn is late. (did you mean 'dusk' ?)

Behind us are (are)? long gone and past,
and once again it's spring at last.

Very interesting read!

I like your style of writing.

I hope you don't mind my pointing out a couple of things?
In this sentence -
They didn’t fight for anything that their enemies possessed or did they believe that they would ever win this war. (Perhaps it would read more smoothly if you used nor instead of or as in - 'possessed; nor did they') Just a thought.

In the following sentence - did you mean 'intentions'?
Try as they might no human could hide from the rage of those whose intensions was to murder them.

No matter how many sunsets I see there will never two that are exactly alike. (missing 'be'-will never be two)?

Other times there won’t be a single cloud in site and only a pale blue sky and a bright and beautiful (did you mean 'sight' ?)

These mountain protect us form the demons that live on the outside. ('mountain_s' ?)

Okay, I'll quit nitpicking now.

This made me feel good, as a read. I only wish it were longer...if it were, I would have read every word. Nicely written. Sad, but an understanding shared by many, though perhaps not with as much grace as you told it. Was this a passing shared by someone you know? If not, you have a wonderful imagination.

Beautifully written. I just entered a peice the other day about the loss of my husband, "My Irishman" They are heartrending to write but there is a degree of cleansing in getting it out, isn't there?
