A poem about a relationship ending but refusing to give up hope.
Standing on a sinking ship
Slowly fading deep below.
Choppy waters, raging storm
Never a cause for alarm.
Will not see before it's late
Blinded by the light of love.
One man crew to keep afloat
Holding to the sinking lie.

Standing on a sinking ship
Slowly fading deep below.
Inch by inch I slowly slip.
But I will stay and will not go.

I will not see before it's late
Blinded by your words of hope
Clinging to the coming fate
Struggling to stay afloat.

Blinded by the light of love.
Holding to a dying lie
Just to see a sign above
But I will stay and I will die.

A final end I will meet
Weathering the storm outside.
Maybe he will take my lead
But at least I know I tried.

I will die for this ideal.
I will perish on this trip.
Now I know that we weren't real
But I refused to jump the ship.
I was blinded by my love.
Blinded by a dying lie.
Dark skies hovering above.
I stayed behind and now I die.
