A wedding gift to a friend, who married someone else.
Pitiful Girl

Your love is pitiful
now let me explain
you know if I wronged you
you'd take the blame

and my love is horrible
cause I go astray
yet you always find me
and love me the same

Pitiful girl, I love you
Beautiful girl, I'll try

They say i'm an actor
but I can't pretend
that you aren't my dearest
and my deepest friend

They say i'm a jester
a player, a fool
but i'd have only tragedy
if I didn't know you

Pitiful girl, I love you
Beautiful girl, I'll try

Your love is wonderful
what more can I say?
I'm so far from perfect
but you show me the way

and I must forgive you
for loving a fool
who so very clearly
loves you too

Pitiful girl, I love you
Beautiful girl, I'll try

Pity the girl, that loves me
cause I'll marry the girl who tries...
