The One Sheer Delight

Early one morning, laying in bed
Feeling like the weight of the world rested upon her head,
Laying so quietly, listening to the rain,
Feeling all happiness begin to drain,
Right from her heart, her soul and her mind,
Looking sadly ahead, leaving the joy behind,
Hollow emptiness starts to overcome,
Being so helpless, as if deaf, blind and dumb,
All of the things that used to bring smiles,
Seem so shallow now, as if not worth her while,
There is a hole, gaping in her heart,
Something must fill it, or it may fall apart,
When all seems lost, like there was no hope,

An everlasting light shone so very bright,
She heard,

" Come to me and you shall have sheer delight, follow and trust me, you shall be alright,"

It was as if she was being lifted right from the floor,
Her heart was soaring, she floated even more,
But then that light dimmed, she returned back to earth,
Yet something was different, as if a new birth,
She looked all around to see what was new,
And finally she saw it, bright, shining and blue,
A Bible was there, sitting on top of her dresser,
A small piece of paper also, with a message He had left her,
Her heart almost bursting, she lifted the flap,
And read the small note that was now on her lap,

"You heard my voice, and let me in, you trusted in me, and I forgave your sin"
"Now you can be forever in my light, Because you now have the one sheer delight,"
