Enough with all of the depressing poetry this time of year. It's Christmas! Smile!
Preparations for Christmas

Garlands and wreaths placed upon doors,
train sets and presents, laid on the floors.

Chimneys are swept, and fires are doused,
so Santa can safely enter the house.

Presents are wrapped in the silence of night,
and cards are addressed by the Christmas tree light.

While fireflies perch upon every pine,
children wait endlessly for morning’s first sign.

Weary eyes open, and bed covers stir,
while Christmas miracles often occur.

The soft pitter-patter, of feet down the stairs,
to unwrap the presents, with the “utmost of care.”

Family gathers at the foot of the tree,
Happiness and joy and kindness to see.
