This poem reflects an issue I am passionate about.
What happened to our gath'rings,
They used to be so fun?
We would sit around and share,
All of us, everyone

Gifts and talents with our group,
We gained a lot from this.
Friendships began to flourish,
Revelling in our bliss.

Then one day the tables turned,
And others joined the crew.
It seemed no one was good enough,
To satisfy a few.

One by one our group grew small,
Discouraged by critique.
Each one going her own way,
Another place to seek.

Our sisterhood disbanded,
Everyone on their own.
Many treasures had been traded,
"Perfection" stands alone.

We all have learned a lesson
From this experience so sad.
Encouraging words spark growth,
And death comes from the bad.
