My boyfriend's mother, his best friend, recently past away. This was dedicated to her.
A mother's love is always there.
Even now, I can feel it in the air.
When I close my eyes, I see
All that you have done for me.

From birth, you raised me to be strong,
To never let go - always hold on.
When life seemed to get bad,
You proved we'd get by with what we had.

The lessons you taught were life-long.
I know the meaning of right from wrong.
I truly am my mother's son.
Because of this, half my battles are won.

I'll remember the good times we shared,
The punishments given, because you cared.
I'll remember the kindness of your heart.
Your smile was God's art.

In this world, you marked your place,
And held it firm with dignity and grace.
No matter what life seemed to hand out,
Honor...respect - that's what you were about.

You were the strongest woman I ever knew.
No one could hold a light to you.
So no matter how broken my heart may be,
I open my hands and set your soul free.

And as you peer from above,
Know that I can feel your love.
