Loving is a hard thing to do.
I was never much of a sailor
So free and ready to go
Boats were not my style
This much I did know

It was much too hard
For me sail
I never got the hang of the ropes
And my body was frail

But then someone came along
Gave me my ticket of leave
It was the best ship I'd ever seen
Being away just made me grieve

I was taken back at those feelings
About this trip I never knew
The wind on my face with plenty of options
But then someone said "you're through"

I tried to sail my own ship
I thought I that I could sail
But little did I know
That my little ship would fail

I thought that I knew my goal
As well as where to go
But the map I had was soon lost
Where it went I'll never know

So I'll keep sailing on I guess
Just the best that I can
I'll try to chart some other course
But I'll stick to the original plan

For there's nothing quite like
that first ship and crew
And the feeling that you get
When the ship sails for you
