Dialogue between darkness and a traveler in search of "Light".
2<1

"Presence Persistent
Shade cast forth
Darkness facing south
Dare I head north?"

"Weary traveler, you're trekking in vein
As Tormentor, I persist again."

"An undesired union this shall be
What is your opinion, why persist me?"

"Journeyman, I watch you flee with all your might
Seeking Sun against the night
Hoping that its rays will purge
Desires of darkness and every urge
Wisdom is not mine, yet I possess perfect sight
What you fail to get, is you are only half the Light
All that persist, is all that remains
The very darkness you resist, is in part what you contain
All in all are thee
A portion seeking Sun
The rest finding me
A fraction of you I repel
A ration of you I attract
A dole of you yielding
A cut fighting back
We all seek what is of the like
It's why you journey for the Light
Why I trail close, behind
Only seeking what is like mine
Your half pursues a holy Light
The other is prey for solely night"

"Lo, Tormentor! In disguise
You are no mentor, but a guise!
If half is what you hunt, that half will have to go
I'd rather journey half the man, than with you in tow
If All in all are we
May all that is Light
Accept all of me
As less, but one
I come
No longer persisting
As the two
No longer divided
No longer subdued
Never part seeking
What is not you
And if I ever
For darkness lust
Let the Light remind me
Why it is
In it I trust"
