A poem inspired by a walk through the woods with my friends.
On The Lonely Road

If Time would only stop, I would walk forever.
With the stars as my guide,
The road goes on and on, until the end of never,
and my friends are at my side.

I would walk a million miles, until the end of Time,
or until the end of me.
And all of me is held inside this little Rhyme,
all I'm meant to be.

The road goes on forever, impervious to mortal life,
to the end that all things find.
And in the road is peace, and end to endless strife,
a rest for my restless mind.

If Time would only stop, I would walk at ease,
until the end of Time.
And in my wanderings, I would find my peace,
and have no need for Rhymes.
