Two writers who loved long ago.
Two writers lived
Long ago.
They may have been friends
Maybe foes
Maybe both
Maybe neither.
His stories were layered,
Profound.
Hers ridiculous, comical
Yet
deep in hidden meanings.
How can polar opposites
Be so alike?

His wry humor
Sets of the sirens
Of her obnoxious,
Strident laugh
That reflects her
Gargantuan heart.
He cackles
To himself.
On the inside,
Admiring her vivaciousness.
She watches him
As his shoulders shake.
She blatantly gawks
And marvels at his reserved
Demeanor that is so full
Of life.

As tension grows,
Their hearts cultivate.
Closing in on each other’s.
This affiliation is obvious.
No matter how strange
It may seem.
In his words,
It’s incomprehensible.
In hers,
It’s love.
