Why do you claim to love me?
Why don't you like me?
         Am I too ugly?
Why won't you touch me?
         Is my skin too rough?
Why won't you come near me?
         Does my scent disgust you?

Why do you love me?

You must enjoy not having someone to hold.
Is this how you envision it when you grow old?
Do you know how it feels to be so lonely?
It's even worse when with your one and only.

For so many people love comes and love goes.
It is through the weak love that hatred grows.
Love is so blessed for those who are strong;
Hearts entwined as one, they'll never go wrong.

But love can't survive on only one heart;
It's the joy of sharing that turns love into art.
Nothing on earth will ever be as sweet
As two hearts that share the other one's beat.

In the end, those entwined hearts will reign;
Victors of comfort, joy, sorrow and pain.
