A litany of woes.
SORROWS

Sorrows wind and unwind so
That I’m for them a game.
As one goes, another comes;
The life remains the same.

Why can’t all of them invade
Me simply in one go?
That would be better than this
Death so painful and slow.

How long shall I have to face
Perpetual torment?
I am now almost a wreck.
With sorrows, I am bent.

Lord, have some mercy on me.
Let me too have some life.
Let me have some sane moments,
Free of sorrow and strife.
