This is a poem about fear, and believing in yourself
So he’s back again
And he’s pounding on the door
So do I ignore him?
Or allow him to come in once more
I know what I should do
But the decision I make is always the same
I let him come in and he hinder me
But that’s my fault I’m the one to blame
I lack the courage to say “no”
That “you cannot come in”
“Your days of disappointment
And destruction has come to an end”
I always seem to start out strong
With motivation and drive
But somehow I find myself doubting
And that’s when he arrives
There’s a familiar pattern to this
He only shows when I listen to what people have to say
But when I start to believe
He seems to runaway
And now he’s back again
Pounding harder than before
So do I let him stay out there?
Or do I open the door
The decision is completely up to me
And this time I decided to no hear
Soon the pounding stopped
And away went fear
