Metaphoric Mystery
The dangling carrot that they promise you, is only an illusion of sorts,
They only truly reward, their devilish minions and cohorts,
But if you are good and pure, and if your words are true,
They will never value your words, no matter how hard you try or what you do,
Look friends at the dangling carrot, as it sparkles and glows in your face,
But no matter how hard you run for it, all you will do is waste,

Days and hours of lost time, trying your very best,
Only to have them reward you with their crumbs at best,
This is the dangling carrot, I've seen in my life before,
Some of my time was stolen, but I will not waste anymore,
Anyone can get burned once, but get burned twice and you are the fool,
Remember this because truly, it is one of life's golden rules.

I came I saw I tried, I even participated,
and for the dangling carrot, oh how I waited,
Working and learning and being encouraged to get tangled up in their web,
But thankfully I've found their secret, if you are not possessed,
Of hatred darkness and despair, you aught not participate,
For the dangling carrot contest is fixed, and has never nor will ever be fair,
Goodbye devils lair
