A slice of divine purpose and a snapshot of one trail in my personal healing journey.
Lone crow flew off from the swamp he had made.
He no longer could stay as he'd been.
Crow had filled up his swamp and his mind with the things-
so he suffered again.

The big empty holes that had peppered his soul
seemed ever so harder to bear.
So he gathered what few of his things still remained
and unsteadily took to the air.

He flapped and he cried, and would surely have died,
searching for solace and truth.

Crow came along to a pine shaded glen,
and thought how he might get some rest.
He met there a wise one, a teacher, a kind soul,
who would put all he knew to the test.

The wise bird had studied for many long moons,
and asked if crow wanted to heal.
She said that the holes began long in crow's past,
and that he must now learn how to feel.

She asked if young crow really knew who he was,
if he even knew his own core.
So crow listed all of the things he could do,
and lay out his past on the floor.
He told her he was smart, and caring and skilled,
told her all this and more.
But all these were only the whats of crow's life,
and inward he'd find the lost door.

So crow shifted and changed,
his thoughts now re-arranged,
and he he dug up the wounds of his past.
He learned to experience and allow the pain,
and discovered these things need not last.

And some holes they closed, and others remain,
but these days crow has learned to be still.
Wise teacher taught crow that such things he can't fill,
and yet crow is still fine and complete.
With healing and peace now the crow may move forward,
and he's ever so sure that he will.
