A poem about how I wish I wasn't so affected by my emotions. It still needs work.
I Wish

Oh, how I wish I were a smooth and shining lake
Whose surface reflects the cloudless summer sky
A lake whose serenity and peace you cannot take

I wish I were an expanse of emerald field
The earth's bedding into which sleeping clouds can cry
The lost and lonely come for the healing that I yield

I wish I were a storm, whom no one could dictate
The wild winds would carry me for an eternity
Wanton destruction. Beautiful, violent hate.

I wish I were a faceless cliff, towering and bare.
The measured strength of stone is all you would see.
Winds and water carry away my every care.

I wish I were a blossom, smiling at the sun.
Bringing sunshine joy to even the likes of you.
My happiness diminished by nothing and no one.

I wish I were a mountain, a triumph you can't take away
Rearing majestically into the blue
Providing direction, guidance. Master of all I survey.

Instead I am a raindrop, hurtling to the land.
Cool and blue and thoughtless.
Pointless. Useless. Landing in your hand.
