A poem I wrote to express the frustration of trying to help a friend.
How long will I have strength to keep pushing though?
What is the point at which I will break?
What more can I say, what more can I do,
To convince you your life is not yours to take?

Night after night we argue it out,
Night after night it ends in stale mate,
You say you're convinced, but I know that you doubt.
Tomorrow we'll start over, the same old debate.

When will you see, that it all will be worth it?
This pain will not last, some day it will end.
Please keep holding on, please get through the hard bit,
I'll be here through it all, as your helper and friend.

You think if you die it all would be better?
After all of the hours spent talking and fighting,
Repeating our arguments over and over,
You think we don't care, and the solution is dying?

Frustration seems wrong, you need help, not my anger,
I can't show you my feelings of fear and irritation,
But it all seems impossible when I know you're in danger,
to not feel such anger and such desperation.
