I wrote this while writing my final exams. It's how I feel about school and the future.
Oh the mindless poetry
Constructed during the time
Of Tests and Examinations
To alleviate boredom through rhyme

Free us, oh cruel teacher
Oppressor of the young
Who gloats in our misery
Because their song remains unsung

The pinnacle of torment
Is the view of outside
Sunshine, birdsong and a gentle breeze
Yet we, our time must bide

Time is indeed relative
As examinations span an eternity
Yet holidays, weekends and afternoons
Evaporate with alarming alacrity

Yet before you know it
School comes to an end
And you're released into the world
Once you've laid down your pen

And suddenly the view outside
Is not as inviting as before
And your school full of friends
Suddenly was not such a chore

Yes, before you know it
School draws to a close
And you're released into the world
With only your results as proof of what one knows
