My feelings on writing poetry. How I view poets and how writing is an act of expression.
I'm not a poet
I'm just a girl with some time on my hands
I'm not a poet
I'm just a kid with my head full of words

A poet is an old man
From the sepia watercolour
With a beard
And a profound expression

I'm not a poet
So this isn't a poem
It doesn't rhyme
The timing's out
And I'm not sure where it's going

I'm not a poet
I just like to watch the world go by
I'm not a poet
But I laugh, sing, love and cry

I'm not a poet
And neither are you
But that's no reason not to write
The words in your head
The sights in the world
The song in your heart
And call it poetry.
