poetic experience or "Hell in the Show Me State"
Baby's crying in the morning,
Can't breath through all the strange smoke
Momma's in the kitchen, Baby,
Ain't talkin 'cause her jaws broke

And Daddy's in the living room
Can't ever find cessation
Find it in that needle, Daddy?
Or are you just chasing sensation?

Daddy used to grin...
Held his head high and strong
But damn the world's cruel, Baby,
For those who don't belong

Big brother knows about the pain
He covers my eyes a lot
And now he's on the front porch, Baby,
Smoking up the pot

No spoons for the cereal
Daddy's gone and used them all
Momma's screaming "Oh dear god!"
Will this time be his funeral?

When I closed my eyes I dreamed
A white picket fence
A smiling family
And playing ball
Just something that makes sense
