A short poem of Despair
Silently screaming at the top of my lungs,
Hoping that someone will hear, but there is no one.
Someone to love me, someone to care,
But once again no one is ever there.
I’ll fake a smile; pretend I’m okay
Holding back tears for one more day.
I’ll write this poem, pretend it’s alright
Feeling completely alone for yet another night.
Maybe someday this sadness will pass and be gone
And happiness will come, but it won’t last long.
I’ll lose this game called life, cold and alone
I’ll die in the dark, hopeless and prone
Become a vague memory, another forgotten name
No one will care to remember, it’ll all be the same
As when I began, screaming silently in pain,
Hoping for someone to care, but nobody came.
