My digital scale.
I have to say my middle is not lean;
there is a bit of belly here to stay.
Therefore I use this digital machine
which utilizes gravity to weigh.

My gravity machine sets in the back
next to a light blue antique wooden swan.
When I am off, its oval face is black,
however, lights in red when I am on.

I get a reading of one seventy,
then step off and watch numbers disappear.
I know my weight is due to gravity,
yet as time marches on more mass is clear.

  I bear results for which this scale will gauge
  as gravity bears down the more I age.
