I wish I was Tom Brady.
I think that I am finished.
I’ve had a lengthy run.
But now I’ve reached the ends, it seems.
It looks like I am done.

But that’s okay, believe me.
I know I have to stop.
I only wish I’d called it quits
when I was at the top.

I wish I was Tom Brady.
That was the way to go.
He hung ‘em up and then came back
and won the biggest show.

But that ain’t gonna happen.
It wouldn’t work for me.
I never was the best to start
so that could never be.

So I’ll just be content now,
let others take my place.
There comes a time for all of us
to bow out of the race.

Who do I think I’m kidding?
I can’t give up the game.
‘Cause this is all I know about.
It’s not about the fame.

I’ll never be Tom Brady.
I’ll never be the GOAT.
In truth it will be hard for me
to keep my head afloat.

But I will go out swinging,
until they put me down.
I’ll only quit if I look like
a cripple or a clown.

‘Cause this is what I live for
and this is what I do.
I couldn’t really stop myself,
not if I wanted to.
