A short poem about growing up that tries to stir up feelings of nostalgia.
Running to nowhere
Wood chips stuck in tennis shoes
Laughter that overtakes the sound of running motors

I like you

No, I like you more

Blue eyes
Blue sky
Everything connects

It’s all blurring together
Mixing paint with fingers

The playground has disappeared
Left behind in a rush

Now
That shirt doesn’t fit me anymore
That picture of us is missing

And I can’t remember your name
Though I know I held your hand
