"Be normal."

...........What even IS that?

A state of mind where the weird ones can't fit?

A place of being where it's focused on being liked?

More than encouraging a person to truly be themselves?

Doing things that make them happy, yet you find uncomfortable.

Things you once found enjoyable.

Till someone made fun of you & said "That's not normal."

& you caved in so you wouldn't be clowned on.

A shame how some folks lost touch with their true selves.

Putting on a front to the world, till they forget who they truly are.

Giving so much into the persona they crafted, till the true them starts to bleed through the surface.

& they can't even handle the true them in private, cause the voices informed them "You're not perfect."

When the reality is that you should embrace all of your flaws.

The fact that you sing at the times when it appears odd.

That you contort your body in ways that appear wrong.

How you like to dance in ways that aren't known in the culture of Pop.

What even IS normal?

A person who is one dimensional?

A human who looks for approval in others who don't even know them?

A goofy individual who projects their insecurities onto others, instead of collaborating with other abnormals?

Honestly, if that's what being normal is, then I'll be the biggest weirdo on the planet.

I'll take the road less traveled, cause I don't need an official to stamp it.

I'll do what the rest of the world ISN'T doing, because I planned it.

I'll go my own way, stand on my own to, because I can manage.

Love to see the weirdos of the world prospering in their own security of self.

Not wavering from the words or actions of someone else.

Not caring what the world thinks of their image that they give out to the world.

Cause they're truly being themselves, whether boy or girl.

& that's the TRUE state of being normal: Being absolutely true to yourself.

Going against the grain & living the genuine core being you were meant to share.

Not putting on a mask of fallacy in order to be loved by strangers.

To the point where your integrity burns you with shame, eventually causing thoughts of self danger.

Don't be normal, don't be special, just embrace you.

Hone that person in the mirror, & strengthen you.

A weirdo.

A hysteric.

A magnificent creature of infinite possibilities.

I used to be "Normal", & let me tell you, it almost killed me.

Till I looked inside, & saw the diamond that the world tried to hide in me.

Dug so deep inside, & now it's pulled out of me.

& I appreciate all weirdos, now.

Never will I shun them away.

We all have our quirks.
