I don't send photos of my food.
No bumper stickers on my car
to show you where I’ve been.
Don’t spend my life collecting stuff
like there’s a prize to win.

Hey, I don’t have a Facebook page.
Don’t post my every thought.
I keep my feelings to myself,
the way a person ought.

What’s happened to this crazy world?
Is everyone insane?
They fill each void with empty talk,
no matter how inane.

Don’t want to brag of what I own.
Who cares what others think?
I don’t send photos of my food
or what I have to drink.

And don’t send me your instagrams.
They’ll never get to me.
I might just throw my phone away,
then I'll be truly free.

Hey, you can live your busy life
but leave me out of it.
I’ll find a place to lose it all.
I’ve had enough; I quit.

It’s not that I’m a humble man.
I just don’t need applause.
No, save your praise for those rare ones
who help a worthy cause.

Too many people spend their lives
in jealousy and greed.
Just peace and quiet is my goal.
That’s all I really need.
