Surviving a car accident

I am alive

The car spun, hit the pole
They said it was wrapped around
A side impact nearly my life stole
By the seat belt I was not bound
I do not know how I lost control
A bash to the head, memory unwound

They said it was hard to resuscitate
My blood pressure dropped low
Electric shock my heart to animate
Broken ribs a painful blow
Each breath the pain did not abate
But I am alive in life’s flow
