someone wants to stop a trial
THE TRIAL
CHAPTER 1

The alarm lights lit the board. The fire crews grabbed their weapons as they raced to the EMS

vehicles. They carried 20 passengers who were soldiers, medic, and fire fighters, four crew members

having a rotating cannon as its true armament, a fifty calibre machine gun on the turret. The room had

sixteen of these vehicles with tractor treads. The squad had to run for the alarm that was sounded they

had to get there. They had been relaxing, now they had to get busy. What signalled the alarm they did

not know, but it sounded as if they were all needed there. This was monumental in scale, they had never

been summoned like this in all their days.

"Jon. Where are we headed?” the commanding officer asked as he climbed into his seat, he wore

the armour that we have to wear for protection. We have ro wear this in order to be protected from

people who may want to stop us from arriving anywhere in the city. We are identified as an emergency

measure system to protect whatever they were going into. The armour was bullet proof, having an air

tank on their backs, with water to supplement their water they used.

“The court house!” Jon asked as he looked at the screen in the EMS room where he had a link to

the satellites above the city they were so accurate it was suggested they could find a needle in a

haystack in one pass over it. He did not feel that this statement was accurate.

"Any idea, what is happening there?" the CO asked as he waited to hear what he said. The CO

watched the street as the vehicle took the turn. He saw the pristine court house, SIxteen columns

supported the roof it was a huge structure there stood a statue at the entrance of RFK holding a sheet of

paper which was a scroll, his mouth was agape, his left hand held a pistol pointed in the general

direction he was facing.'

"Not a clue?" Jon said as he touched the screen of the satellite feed, the screen showed the court

house. There were security officers there to protect the trials that were being held there. He watched as

they put their identity cards into the pay slot. All were ent.

Then an instance later, the people attending the court rooms appeared. He knew, that the trial

was to happen here. He was the only officer aware of what was happening there.

The limousines carrying the defendant and his attorney emerged from the car, they walked w          ith

an escort of guards on their tail. The defendant smiled as he arrived on the seventh stair to climb up.

The security took nothing for granted, They watched the street, looked at the upper windows of the

buildings beside the courthouse. They lowered their weapons and took the defendant under their wing.

They were militarily trained, they took nothing for granted.

The screen now showed the front of the court house, thirty people materialised there dressed in

the armour of the EMS crew, they weren't them, they hadn't gotten into their vehicles yet. They had

bazookas and rifles that looked unlike any weapons that EMS crew carved with them.

"There are thirty of them at the courthouse. They are wearing armour similar to your own. Their

weapons look unlike any you have with you!" Jon warned, as he looked at the thirty of them began to

march toward the interior of the courthouse, Four of them headed onto the sidewalk away from the

courthouse to the other stores that were there.

"Are the EMS teams coming here," a woman's voice broke over the link, she sounded shrill, her

voice was breaking up as she spoke.

"Who is this?" Jon asked the new voice on the link. he knew no one should have access to this

link. The only people who should have access to this link, but the squad on the EMS vehicles and

perhaps if it was possible some member of the security at the courthouse. He doubted it was one of

them.

"The name is Sergeant Monique. I have been sent here as a member of the security team sent

here to protect the asset that was to stand before the accuser," she said as she looked at the court

house, seeing bodies laying in the entrance way, their weapons had been drawn. No doubt they were

fired. The soldiers were without arms or legs. Blood splattered the marble stairway.

"What do you mean, there are thirty of them? Monique, do you know where they are in here?" the

CO asked as he tried to figure out what was happening here.

Jon looked at the beings dressed in the exact armour that his squads were wearing. Jon said,

"The force you are facing is dressed in the same armour as you."

"How could this be possible? What do you mean our armour? Where could they have gotten it

from?" the CO asked as he tried to contemplate this fact. He did not know what had happened there. He

I was afraid of what was happening. He knew the court houses could be where an important trial was

happening there. He hoped that the trail wasn’t here. It could just be someone having fallen. Needing aid

to get to the hospital. That could be it he relaxed a mite. Jon would tell him what was going on

there. Why send out all sixteen EMS vehicles though.

"I thought, the people in the armour were you. When they arrived? It seemed odd that they have

appeared there, and how?" Monique said as sipped some water from her canteen,

"What do you mean? When they arrived, how did they do this?" the CO asked as saw two people

dressed in armour as his own run down the street. heading to the shops.

"They simply appeared here. There was a black smoke that appeared where they appeared at

their feet," Monique said.

The court house was where trials were being arranged to hear what the police found in a factory

that had been smuggling weapons and explosives into the city. There were quite a number of

courthouses that were accepting the potential to have the trial. A great number were listed to also

various other things as well. The officials felt that they had to have a trial. No one knew where this rial

was to happen.

###

"What have you found?” the co said, as the door to the EMS vehicles opened, He leapt out of the

doorway. There were nineteen others joining him in this run.

"What Monique said is true. They simply appeared there," Jon said.

"It makes no sense, that they appeared there," the CO asked as he thought about it.

“The court house has been attacked by someone who wanted to stop the trial?” Monique said as

she saw the troops come out of one of the vehicles.. It was a huge building with marble columns that

supported the roof. The doors were open, there were bodies of the security force that was attached to

the count house. They wore bullet proof armour, carried with them pistols and handcuffs. The ten of

they were dead having entered the court house.

“Are any of them there presently?” the CO asked as he looked about the structure. The columns

looked as if they had scorch marks on the pillars, chips were broken off of the structure. The door to

The hallway was twenty feet across, having a door that was ten feet wide.

“Don’t know, I just arrived,” Monique said as she walked calmly toward the troop She smiled as

She brought her pistol to her holster. I was in a back room when this happened.

         “Roger. That!”

         The vehicle appeared to be rolling toward the court house. The building had sixteen columns;

What happened?

The CO did not know if the witnesses had arrived yet. He knew that they would have to be

cautious as they entered the building. This house was in the area where stores were abundant. The

The satellites converge over the street to show what was happening there. A person dressed in

The vehicle turned the turret towards where this story was. They saw the figure walk inside the shop, it

lifted its rifle up to run toward the way down to the subway.

The CO raced toward the court building, he saw the stairway going down to the subway, but it was

unavailable as he knew it was. He walked toward the official who was looking at him. She wore a

uniform of the military, she smiled as he approached he had received the data that there was a person

dressed in armour that looks remarkably like the armour of the team that was with him.

He frowned, how was this person to have come here. His crew he knew were with him so they

could not be this person, whoever she was. He was puzzled by this being standing there walking into

the shop. The armour of the figure looked as if it took no damage from this happening, Why was the

armour looking so much alike as their own,

The woman walked toward him, she said,”I think I heard a sound over there?” She pointed at the

hallway. There were bodies whose bodies were burned in the hallway. Smoke still climbed off the bodies.

The CO walked over to the bodies, none of them were alive.

The door to the court was open. He looked inside the room seeing the bodies of the judge and

the lawyers dressed in their garments of their order. These were the officials of the trial that no one

should have known about. He recognised the lawyers and the judge the people awaiting the charge were

gone.

The CO walked back to the woman, she whirled about drawing her weapon to protect herself from

something to their right. The CO lifted his rifle to point in that general direction. He saw two beings

dressed in similar armour to his own. It did not make sense that these being were wearing armour that

looked identical to his own units in every respect. He lifted his weapon to help her, His visor told him,

that the beings there were wearing armour that was heat retardant. The beings could be similar to his

own people,

How could they be wearing the armour that his own people were wearing. It did not make any

sense, These armours were only issued to the crew of the EMS vehicles that was the only people who

wore them.

He saw two beings carrying rifles who turned to face them. The woman said, “Lower your

weapons. You will be taken with us.”

         The two beings opened fire.

The CO leapt at her, knocking herself from her feet. Before the shots had come to them. The

bullets tore through the columns of the structure, The CO rolled off of her, his rifle was pointed at

between the two beings. The grenade hit the ground, The explosion lifted the two beings from they feet

carried into the columns. It should have killed a human, but they were not dead. They lumbered to their

feet and ran toward the stairs going down to the sub level where the subways used to run.

The CO charged toward where the two were. The one on the right, pointed his rifle at him, and the

CO was lifted from where he was into the air, an arm flew off of his body to arrive on the ground a few

feet away.

The other one raced toward the door to the substructure,

When the woman got to her feet she sped to where the CO lay. She could see blood pooling about

the CO’s body.

The two of them had vanished.

The rest of the troops arrived in the courthouse. They went from room to room down the staircase

to the train tracks where a train once went. a subway rail went there, This section of rails should have

been used long ago.

"What the hell happened?” a sergeant asked as he knelt beside the CO.

” I don’t know. These beings showed up here.” the woman said as she touched his shoulder as

she looked at him.

“Do you know how many of these beings are here?” a sergeant asked as he bit his lip as he

continued to look about.

“Twenty or thirty of them.” she supplied as she brought out a sterile dressing to put on his wound.

“Where did they come from?” the sergeant asked, he saw a medic of the unit approach them.

“I don’t know.” She paused for a moment then r began to speak. “They just appeared here?”

“Jon, can you confirm this for us?” the official said as he looked into her eyes.

They appeared on the stairways to head inside. She is correct. I don’t know how they did
