A poem tribute for National Banana Bread Day.
A speckled friend sat on the kitchen shelf,
Its browning skin, a tale of time itself.
Sweetness lingered, a scent so profound,
The perfect moment for baking to be found.

Flour and sugar, a comforting blend,
Cinnamon whispers, where flavors transcend.
Eggs and vanilla, a velvety beat,
The promise of warmth, a delightful treat.

But doubt crept in, a voice full of dread,
"You're never going to make banana bread."
The words echoed hollow, a weight on the heart,
Procrastination's sting, a tear in the art.

The oven remained cold, the bowl untouched,
A chance for creation, suddenly out of clutch.
The mixer stood silent, whisk laid to rest,
A canvas of flavor left sadly undressed.

Oh, banana so ripe, your potential so grand,
A loaf of pure joy, held in waiting hand.
Could whispers transform to a baker's bold stance,
To knead and to shape with confident trance?

Rise to the challenge, let your spirit take flight,
Banana bread beckons, a sweet, golden light.
From ripened beginnings, a masterpiece lies,
Where doubt finds its end, and deliciousness flies.
