My first entry was co-written with my son, who is 12. I was graciously granted permission to enter it into the contest despite it not being written entirely by myself.

Malodorous Mackerel – a nonsense Limerick

There once was a man from Scentooshy
Whose favorite food was fresh sushi.
Once the whole town was filled
With the fish that he'd killed,
They moved the poor man to Foulushy.

Kentucky Pride

There once was a lad from Kentucky,
Whose spirits were suitably plucky.
So he moved to the West
But returned (like the rest)
‘Cause the whiskey there tasted yucky
