100 word story

The young nurse yawned. It was that time on a night shift when it seemed everyone else in the world was fast asleep.
Answering the call bell of a dying patient, she remained with him holding his hand, Checking his notes for the names of his next of kin to inform them about the imminent death, she saw her mother’s name.

“Mum? I’m at work. We have you down as next of kin to Arthur Smith.”

There was a pause before she answered. “Is he dying, Sally?”

“Yes. Soon. Who is he?”

“I’m sorry.” Her mother whispered,“He is your father.”
