It started snowing and forgot to stop!
The prediction was for a blizzard
While we waited patiently for Spring.
It started snowing - and forgot to stop,
No one knew how much it would bring!

Two foot of snow, and still snowing!
The roads were less traveled, for sure.
The snowplows were out in full force
For the day had not a bit of allure!

The roads were extremely harzardous;
Plow drivers got little rest -
Two hours sleep and back out again
They'd drink black coffee at best.

Some folks ventured out to the highway
Determined to get where they were going;
They didn't realize how bad it was
And the snow and the wind kept blowing.

Some "parked" haphazardly off the road,
Waited for a wrecker to come pull them out.
They looked up at the dark gray sky
And to the Lord they did shout!

The general store was still open
And the bravest of all made it through
They bought wine, bread and flashlights
Determined to do what they had to do!

A word of thanks to the plow drivers,
May they be safe where ever they roam!
And give them a wave or a handshake
Cause these men would like to be home.

Heros come in all sizes -
It doesn't matter how tall
These are folks who are there
When we need them and call!
