WHISPERING WINDS

All the lights and glitter fading
As the dance comes to an end;
The chance we took in loving
Will never, ever come again.

The longing there in my heart,
The voices silenced as we part.
Moving back into our own lives,
Our romance never had a start.

For all the dreams born that night
Were but a collection of our sins.
It's all over, done and finished -
Left to the whispering winds.

The whispering winds will carry
All the emotion that we shared -
When for just a few brief moments
I really knew that someone cared.
