WISHING

A sweet little old lady
With shining silver hair
Sits alone on the old front porch
In her favorite rocking chair.

To have a visit from family
Is her dearest wish of all;
Yet Spring has turned to Summer,
And soon it will be Fall.

She soon starts to shiver
As a cold breeze begins to blow,
And getting up, goes in the house,
With a last look at the sunset glow.

It seems that time is slipping by
Much faster since she got old;
And memories are all she has
To warm her when it's cold.

She dreams of angels with silver wings
Whose song is sweet and clear;
She's wishing for a heavenly home
And her wish will take her there.
