Garrison Keillor coined the term "storm child"
Storm child waits impatiently
For chance to fly away
Escape restraining walls
And flee her prison gates

Storm child looks at thunderheads
That herald her retreat
To unknown walls and unknown arms
Encircling her safe

Storm child’s eyes look ever out
Toward the great away
And freer vistas beckoning
A great unfettered day

Storm child flees the gathering gloom
And yearns to hither roam
Come back, storm child, can you not see?
This port is your storm home.
