COSTUME PARTY

** Image ID #822403 Unavailable **

We got the invitation weeks ago,
My wife thought it was great!
A chance to dress up as our heroes;
The lure of a grand prize the bait.

We went down to the costume shop
Just to have a little look around,
Not many costumes for couples,
But this is what we finally found.

My wife wiggled into the Batman suit,
And the Robin suit fit me to a "T"
Now the folks in Gotham City
Never saw the likes of her and me.

As super-heroes we looked pretty good
(At least that's what I thought!)
The store manager took our photograph
And this is the one we bought.

All the crooks reading comic books
May not fear us as the dashing pair,
Grinning from ear to ear, and fatter,
We are not likely to give a scare!

Unless they fall from laughing
And my wife sits on their chest;
While I use my trusty cellphone
To call the law with a request

To pick up the dastardly crooks
And then put them away for good,
I don't know if we'll win the prize,
But don't you think we should?!
