A poem I wrote for my best friend from high school.
My dear lady
From the first time I caught sight of you
Til the time comes when there is no longer
Breath in my lungs
I will always
Love you.

And everytime I think of you
I will remember
The good times and the bad.

I will remember your smile
And how it brightened my days
I will remember your eyes
And how they understood me so well
I will remember your sweet tender voice
And how it vanquished so many of my tears.

You could have told me to get lost
But you did not
You saw me through many hardships
You saw me through thick and thin.

You were always there when I needed you
When so many others were not
And I know you will always be there
At least in my heart.

You have given me so much
Even if I never become rich in money
I will always be rich
In the joy and kindness
You have given me.

I owe you so much
In some ways I owe you my life
Because you made me
Feel I could conquer anything.

I do not think you know
How much you have done for me
Someday I hope to find a way
To repay you
Even though you would never seek it.

All I need to do
Is simply close my eyes
And a smile comes to my face
Because I am remembering you.
