*star crossed lovers!
The Drifter

A spiraling darkness
Towards depths of despair

A mood that’s unending
Turns to black with out care

A suffering sadness
That nags at the soul

A half of a man
Just trying to be whole

An injustice of heart
A betrayal so cruel

An act upon which
relied on no rule

A devil-like temptress
Stole honesty and reliance

Leaving him with only anger
And defiance.

And so the drifter
Cursed always to roam

For the bridges he burned
Included his home

The Temptress

A pain neverending
And destined to repeat

A heart that is bleeding
And use to defeat

A loneliness aching deep
Down in her soul

A half of a woman
Just trying to be whole

In search of happiness
His heart she did tread

Her intention to stay
But for fear her feet fled

Down to the river
With rationless thought

Bound her feet with rope
Then her ankles with rock

She wanders the beach
In dawn's early mist

Her spirit longing
For the drifter's kiss
