Not a love poem. Rather it is my thoughts on the whole idea of love.
Love.
You cannot see it,
Nor hold it,
Can’t taste it or smell it,
Yet it has more power than
Any other force on Earth.
It lifted the likes of
Helen and Paris into infamy
And sent thousands to the abyss in its Ten Year War.
Nothing else can so change a man’s life
Or cause him to end it.
Love can conjure up the most white-hot
Rage possible
Or the most tender, gentle touch
Imaginable.
Truly it is the most extraordinary
And versatile of emotions.
This destroyer of Troy;
Ignitor of the burning flames of jealousy and righteous anger;
Inspirer of poets and artists alike;
Fuel for all Romeos;
Craving of all Julliets;
How beautiful and hideous this love is.
