A poem I wrote when I was thinking about the ways things could have turned out.
The Lost Journeys

I am the ghost that has traveled your untaken roads.
When you seek your might have beens, you seek me.
Come with me on a journey, to see that which never was.

Had you gone right instead of left, money to fill your pockets.
Woken a little earlier, more friends to fill your home.
Spoken a little louder, justice would have prevailed.
Whispered, the dove in your hands would have slept.
Held her gaze a little longer, she would have shared your love.

All these things you have lost, but do not despair.
There are still many roads to be traversed, adventures to be had.
And I will always be there to remind you,
                   of what might have been.
