The potency of night, or is it?
Come day, Go day,
Light surrenders to the dark
Conceding vanquishment,
Submitting sheepishly,
To the steamroller of obscurity.
Shadows dissolve into blackness,
Pitch dark and ominous,
Cloaking the cosmos.

Come day, Go day,
Night consumes all.
What went before,
Exists no more,
In this black hole.
This void of perpetuity
Clasps no captives,
Yet sanctions no liberties,
Redemption is refused.

Come day, Go day,
No glitter of starlight,
No glimmer of illumination.
To diffuse this shroud
Of oppressive gloom
Forlorn and futile
We flail in vain
To repel the primal might.
