Trying to understand the loss of love
Do you remember when I first said I loved you?
Do you remember when you first knew I cared?
Were these moments that made you feel happy?
Or were these moments that made you feel scared?
Or were conflicting emotions all rolled into one?
Did they tear at each other and leave you in utter confusion?
Did they play with your mind and scare you away?
Because I noticed a change in you one day,
A sad day to me for you seemed so distant and cold,
That warm embrace I once felt in your arms became an empty hold.
Those kisses filled with passion soon withered away,
They were instead replaced with self doubt and utter dismay.
As I struggle to find an answer as to why that flame has suddenly died,
If I fail in rekindling that spark I can at least say I tried.
