Both of you mentioned the "state of mind" of my friend and he refuses to look in the mirror himself. In the years that I've known him, he also has gone through some changes... including a more rounded mid-section. I think he is fooling himself by pretenting to be working out on the stair stepper for 15 minutes a day. He makes excuses like bad back and sore knees. Of course, I should talk because I have put on a sizeable amount of weight myself and I blamed a lot of it on genetics and not my laziness.

I need to change my habits...

i think the "taking for granted" thing naturally happens in any relationship over time. it is up to both people to keep things on the right track. i would imagine whoever this guy is who is complaining about something so trivial and unimportant as post-pregnancy body changes, is not appreciating his wife the way he could be either. maybe the guy didn't get the memo about how a woman's body changes. he obviously has unrealistic expectations. i hope he gets a brain before his wife wises up and leaves his sorry butt.
now about change - you know, i've been talking to someone who's church is undergoing a big change (change of pastors) and the new pastor is basically changing everything drastically. well, this person really does not like the changes at all. so far they have complained a lot about it, but have not spoken to the pastor about concerns, afraid they'll look like a trouble maker. if they are too afraid to speak their mind, then they should shut their mouth and either adjust or go somewhere else.
same in life - changes are guaranteed. we either adjust or we are left behind or left to move on to something else, which is a change in itself! no matter what, no one can escape change. not all changes are for the better, mind you. i am all for embracing change if it is positive, but what one person sees as postivie is another person's hell. it is all a matter of perspective.
i really had no point.

i need a nap.

I gush from the ways you think of me, and laugh at how self-centered I seem in the beginning of this. You made me blush, and that doesn't happen easily...well, I don't think so.

I miss my MOO-friend and am sad that we don't see each other often, but know that no matter the time or distance, we'll remain a part of each others' lives.

You made me sound amazing in this, lol!

It's a pity he feels that way. My body changed a lot with childbirth, and while I personally hate it... my husband doesn't seem to care one bit. He says that our children made me that way, and he wouldn't have it any other way - because the only other way would be... without our children. (Besides, my stretch marks are probably the softest portion of my skin. >.< )

As for taking advantage... well, I imagine all of us in longer relationships are guilty of that in one manner or another. I've even caught myself doing it, but I try to do my best to... fix it, so to speak.

I agree with you on this one. Having things done like this for a animal that is not done as a quite family thing when it maybe be a child that lost its pet is to me so wrong on so many levels. I agree the money can go to more worthier things I think.
