See I didn't even remember all this. I remember the medic kit I had for school since you mention it and I remember an occasion where my favorite teacher went to bat when I got stung one time and took me to the doctors surgery herself. That was one of the seriouser episodes and I'd paniced when I saw the bee land on my wooley jumper and shook my hand to scare it away causing the sting to break in my finger. The doctor had to remove the sting as well as deal with the reaction. That's one of the vivid memories, I can remember the jumper and I remember how many feet away from the office I was and how I went in there for help because the teachers were there having lunch.

I guess the good thing about my phobia now is it makes me super cautious and as a result I've rarely been stung since. The last sting I had was about five years ago when I didn't watch my step (yep I still go barefoot a lot) and stood on an already dead and squashed bee. I was lucky, it must not have had much poison left in it's stinger because I had a bad local reaction but nothing more than that.

Baby boy was fine and as I suspected hasn't learnt a thing. I had to pull him out of the window again today. *sighs and chuckles*

*chuckles* As I said, "Yep, we all win for writing something inspiring and creative and for facing a blank page and conquering it today." These exercises are fun and interesting and let us face ourselves and gives us something to focus on. It's great that they can be done in 15 minutes because it's a small chunk that somehow manages to produce something that grows and expands in our mind. It can be challenging to begin with, that's why it was thrown at you today because if you prepare for it then it gets harder. But you did fantastically today. I hope you'll come along and give tomorrows exercise a go too.

*chuckles* Ok, remember to edit if you're going to copy and paste emails. As for the TV I didn't see the point. I'm the kind of person who does what's needed and very little more than that. I hooked up the DVD player as primary and figure you can run the TV and VCR through that because that's all that's needed for what you wanted. Why fuss manually tuning the TV, VCR, and DVD independantly when they'll work more efficiently running through the DVD. *shrugs* Oh well, more and more cables and yes there probably is an adaptor in G's bag of cords, it'll be a grey/white little boxy type thing with three metal pluggy type bits. (don't you love my techy talk?)

I've found doing things for myself liberating as well since my divorce. Having the power and confidence to make a life without needed anyone is freeing. It doesn't abate the loneliness and the deep, internal, pulsing need for companionship but it takes away the dependance and allows us to appreciate people less for what they can do for us and more for who they are and who we are when we are with them. Having said that, sometimes it can be a fine balance because it becomes harder to ask for help when you really do need it if you get used to doing everything on your own.

Don't forget there are those of us who are never too busy to help if you truly need us. Even something as seemingly insignificant as tuning a TV, so long as you make it clear it's something you really want done. But having got it working yourself, feel free to have a good with the X-Box. See what this doing it yourself can lead to?

This is a great life lesson. Being able to give is the biggest gift of all. I feel wealthy in being able to help others. I think I've mentioned that in my own blog a time or two. lol

One of the 'charities' I regularly give to now is WDC. Here we have a huge community of people who are actively working to help themselves. Some of them struggle to thrive, some need help in encouragement, support, warm fuzzies, and GP's, memberships, reviews, etc. It's such a simple thing to give of your time and collected 50c coins and it makes a very big difference to some people.

I find giving small things to people and being able to see how it helps them gives me more reward then donating big things to large charities where my donation is only a tiny dip in a very large ocean. I could donate $100 dollars to a major charity and make a scratch on one very big thing. Or I could donate that same $100 here and changes the lives of so many people and enjoy the benefit of watching them grow from that gift and go on to give to others when they can.

That's also the truth of Pay It Forward and RAOK. Both wonderful charity groups that support within WDC and beyond.

YAY! Something fresh and mostly new. Great entry Mummaa, and I'm excited and a bit daunted about the speed of Christmas approaching. That Krching booming comes at a good time when I was getting a bit worried about how to swing Christmas shopping and grocery shopping over four weeks with only a single payday. Now we both might manage.

As for the parking I guess that gives us an excuse to do more walking and walking is good for us. I need to get onto my own Christmas list. I bought your grand-daughter a packet of Christmas Cards which I need to make sure she writes out and gives to her school friends beyond that plans are only just formulating. Ohh LIGHTs saw our first set of really nice Christmas lights tonight and looking forward to getting mine up this year.
